Celtics F JAYLEN BROWN is "exploring the possibility of hiring an agent to represent him in negotiations" with the team on what he "hopes will be a long-term deal that'll keep him in Boston." The reason for "getting an agent now versus earlier in his career when he was on his rookie contract with salaries already slated, can be summed up in two words -- DANNY AINGE." Brown said that he has "been able to sit back and watch for the past three years" how the Celtics' president of basketball operations and the team "operate when it comes to negotiating contracts." Brown said, "You just want someone there to do their job and represent you well." He added that his process for choosing an agent "began last season" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 10/3).

PITCH PERFECT: The Bruins have officially named TODD ANGILLY their new official national anthem singer for this season after RENE RANCOURT's 40+ year run with the team "ended following his retirement" in '18 (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/3)....The Flyers will no longer play a video of the late KATE SMITH singing "God Bless America" before important games at Wells Fargo Center, but the song "will not vanish." Singer LAUREN HART will now perform the song "prior to a big game."
