Fiserv Forum Getting Limited Upgrades To Enhance Aesthetics

Part of the upgrades at Fiserv Forum include about 3,500 improved cup holders around the arenaABBEY HOERCHNER/BUCKS

The Bucks are making targeted improvements to enhance the fan experience and aesthetics of Fiserv Forum ahead of its second NBA season. The improvements include refinishing the floor of the arena's upper concourse, adding a new hospitality suite, 3,500 improved cup holders and a renovated trophy room to include Giannis Antetokounmpo's MVP trophy, Mike Budenholzer's Coach of the Year trophy and Bucks GM Jon Horst's Exec of the Year award. New digital ticket scanners from Fortress will allow arena staff to be faster, reduce errors and track in real time all the customers coming and going into the arena via their digital tickets, said Bucks President Peter Feigin. A new point of sale system will be used across ticketing, retail, and food and beverage operations. The system was developed by First Data, a company that was recently purchased by arena sponsor Fiserv. All five wireless providers in the arena have improved connectivity with upgraded infrastructure. The new cupholders will replace ones that were deemed to be too shallow in the sections behind both basketball goals, Feigin said. The Bucks wanted to redo the upper concourse's floor because the original finish did not hold up to foot traffic during the arena's first season. "We really aspire to have a completely finished building, down to the details," Feigin said.

A ROOM WITH A TRUE VIEW: Meanwhile, the Bucks have signed a media/technology deal with Intel Sports that will see the company’s immersive media True View system installed at Fiserv Forum. The Intel True View system will create immersive 360-degree highlights and replays at Bucks home games during the upcoming season through the use of 38 5K HD cameras ringing the inside of the arena. The content can be viewed on television, inside the arena, on Bucks.com and through the team’s social media channels. The system will be available beginning with the Bucks' first regular-season home game against the Heat on Oct. 26. The team did not disclose terms of the deal. Capital One Arena also uses the Intel technology, as does other NFL and EPL stadiums.
