Facility Notes

In Las Vegas, Akers & Segall noted the Raiders have "acquired several future parking sites for Allegiant Stadium" totaling 17.3 acres for just over $28M. The lots are all "within a mile or so" of the stadium. Obtaining "as many parking spots as possible within walking distance of the stadium is key for the Raiders, as only 2,725 spaces will be available on-site" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 10/3).

PLACE YOUR BETS: In Philadelphia, Andrew Maykuth noted state regulators have "approved a sports-wagering license for a casino near Pittsburgh," providing a platform for DraftKings to "finally enter Pennsylvania’s booming online sports-betting market." Officials at Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Washington County, about 25 miles south of Pittsburgh, said that they were "ready to begin taking bets next Tuesday during a test period and anticipate an official opening by Oct. 10" (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 10/3).

NO SERVICE: In K.C., Gary Bedore notes there "will be no beer or wine sales in public spaces" at Univ. of Kansas basketball games in Allen Fieldhouse this season. Beer and wine is "available for sale to the public at KU football games at Memorial Stadium." Alcohol is also "available to KU’s Williams Fund members in private areas in and around Allen Fieldhouse on basketball game day" (K.C. STAR, 10/4).
