National Lacrosse League Partners with Genius Sports to Monitor Betting Markets

The National Lacrosse League has announced a multi-year integrity partnership with the data company, Genius Sports, to protect against betting-related corruption. Genius Sports will monitor lacrosse betting markets and provide the league with alerts regarding any suspicious activity as part of the deal.

Genius Sports will conduct an assessment of current global betting activity on NLL games and also project the likely growth of betting activity as the legal sports betting market expands in the U.S. The company will then craft an internal framework for the NLL that advises the league on how to manage betting-related issues. Genius Sports and the NLL will also collaborate to create an educational betting integrity program for players, officials and other league stakeholders.

“As the sports gambling market in the United States continues to take shape, we as a league have a responsibility to make sure all aspects of our product is beyond reproach, and there is no one better to ensure we maintain the integrity of our game than Genius Sports,” NLL commissioner Nick Sakiewicz said in a press release.

Genius Sports has partnerships with organizations such as the NBA, Premier League, FIBA, NCAA and the PGA Tour. The company is a main competitor of Sportradar, which also provides betting data distribution and integrity services to sports leagues.
