Baylor AD MACK RHOADES has received a "new 10-year contract" that will keep him at the school until '29. The extension comes after Rhoades had "originally signed a six-year contract" in July '16. Baylor's athletic programs have "thrived as at least 17 of 19 teams reached the postseason in each of his first three seasons." Baylor women's basketball and the acrobatics and tumbling teams both won national championships this past season. Included in Rhoades' contract are "various performance incentives in addition to base salary." As a private institution, Baylor "does not disclose specific contract terms" (WACO TRIBUNE-HERALD, 10/3).

EXECS: The Orioles named creative agency A. Bright Idea President T.J. BRIGHTMAN Senior VP & CRO. The team also promoted JENNIFER GRONDAHL to Senior VP/Community Development & Communications and GREG BADER to Senior VP/Administration & Experience. Grondahl over the last two years expanded corporate and community partnerships for the Orioles' Sarasota operation. Bader has been with the organization for 25 years, most recently heading up communications and marketing efforts (Orioles)....Former SportsEngine Founder & CEO JUSTIN KAUFENBERG, who departed the software company last week, has "joined Rally Ventures as a partner." Rally "led two venture capital rounds in SportsEngine." At Rally, Kaufenberg will "research and make investments, serve on portfolio company boards and advise portfolio companies" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 10/2)....Butler Univ. named Pacers Sports & Entertainment Senior VP/Corporate, Community & PR BRENT ROCKWOOD VP & Chief of Staff. He will start in his new role on Nov. 4 (IBJ.com, 10/2).
