Sports99 will officially open in Atlanta next February and already has hired several employees to run itCO

Grammy-nominated rapper Jeezy is launching a full-service sports agency to represent players and coaches for marketing and playing contract negotiations. The firm, called Sports99, will officially open in Atlanta next February and has hired several employees to run it, including an NBA agent and an about-to-be certified NFL agent. Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, in a statement said, "I have learned through the trials and tribulations of my career what it’s like to have to co-manage yourself. I want to help athletes accumulate real wealth and life skills needed to invest in their future. I’ve always been drawn to athlete culture and making music that motivates and inspires them and others. As I expand my business portfolio, athlete management is an exciting opportunity to help shape players' careers.” Jeezy will serve as CEO of the new agency, although it is not clear exactly how involved he will be in the day-to-day operations. Andrew "Ace" Thomas, Owner and Founder of L.I.E. (Loyalty Is Everything) Clothing, will serve as COO of the agency. NBPA-certified agent Damion "Dee" Jackson will serve as Dir of Basketball Division. Christian Carter, who recently sat for and passed the NFLPA's agent exam, will serve as Dir of Football Division. Gerald Stewart Jr., who has coached AAU and high school basketball teams in the Atlanta area, will serve as Head of Player Personnel.
