Suns C DEANDRE AYTON and his family are "pledging $100,000" toward relief efforts in their native Bahamas following damage from Hurricane Dorian (ESPN.com, 9/6)....Marlins P SANDY ALCANTARA "held a charity softball tournament Saturday at Hialeah's Bucky Dent Park." Proceeds will be "donated to Alcantara's former little league -- La Liga Luisa Blanca -- in Monte Plata, Dominican Republic." The tournament was a "collaboration between Alcantara and the GMM Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Miami" (MIAMI HERALD, 9/8).

NASH'S BRIDGES: STEVE NASH since retiring from the NBA has become a minority owner with LaLiga's Mallorca and the Whitecaps. He also owns his own media company, CTRL_, and he "invested in the HomeCourt app, which tracks your basketball shooting and body movements." Nash said of his business endeavors, "I'm still kind of in a transition stage, to be fair. It's been five years since I retired, but I'm still transitioning to ... what is it that I really want to do?" (TORONTO STAR, 9/8).
