Eagles Unveil Plans For Player-Focused Entertainment Channel

The Eagles will create original content and distribute it through their app, social media channels and moreGETTY IMAGES

The Eagles unveiled a "broad, expansive" initiative called Eagles Entertainment, an online channel that "will try to further connect fans of the team by providing access and entertainment that goes beyond the wins and losses," according to Kristian Dyer of FOX BUSINESS. The initiative, first reported by Front Office Sports, is an "effort to show a different side of the organization and its personalities," and it will "include everything from cooking shows to comedy specials and vignettes that focus on the players as well as the team's fans." The idea is to "expand the Eagles' reach from being a sports franchise to forming a bond that goes beyond the stadium." The content will be "distributed via the Eagles mobile app, the team's official website, their varied social media channels, YouTube and the NFL Connected TV app." The Eagles will "need to create original content" and then "decide how they want to deliver and distribute" the programming on their channels. The "breadth and scope" of Eagles Entertainment is "something the league hasn't seen" before (FOXBUSINESS.com, 9/6).
