Tampa Bay Unveils Buccaneers-Themed Super Bowl LV Logo

The Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee has unveiled its logo, and it features a ship "sailing forward over blue waters" with wording in the Buccaneers' "unique uniform font," according to Eduardo Encina of the TAMPA BAY TIMES. The logo at first glance "looks pretty simple," but it is "clear a lot of thought went into it." The colors are "red and pewter from the Bucs along with blues to represent the region's waters." Five sails on the ship "represent the fifth Super Bowl that will be held in Tampa" (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 9/5). Encina notes Pro Football HOFer Derrick Brooks is co-chair of the Host Committee and spoke at yesterday's logo unveiling at Raymond James Stadium. Brooks "first became curious about what it takes to put on a Super Bowl before Tampa hosted the game" in '01. Brooks in his role "will talk about legacy, how one of the world's most-followed sporting events can leave a social impact on the Tampa Bay area" in '21 and beyond. The committee this fall will unveil its Forever 55 social initiative, which Brooks said "will focus on youth education." He is also "heavily involved in the initiative's planning" (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 9/5).
