House Of Highlights' Growth Plan Includes Youth Basketball Camp

Bleacher Report's House of Highlights is "expanding beyond its digital roots," as its first basketball camp will be held later this year outside S.F., featuring Warriors G D'Angelo Russell, according to Eben Novy-Williams of BLOOMBERG NEWS. This is the "first time Bleacher Report has licensed a sports camp," and is "part of a wider plan to help the House of Highlights unit reach more people across Gen Z." The HoH Instagram page has "grown into a social-media sports juggernaut" and a "go-to for Gen Z fans looking to follow sports news without leaving their favorite platform." The page has over 14 million followers, and "six of the 10 best-performing sponsored Instagram posts" of '19. Originally Instagram-only and "primarily basketball-focused, House of Highlights has begun to expand and diversify." In '18, HoH "launched a show on Twitter and a YouTube channel, which now has more than 1.4 million subscribers." The basketball camp is "essentially House of Highlights' first real offline venture, following small in-person events" around the NBA All-Star Game and Summer League. Russell is "contracted through" event management company ProCamps, which is partnering with Bleacher Report on sports camps. The camp will be "free, and open" to 150 children ages 10-13 (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 9/4).
