LeBron James Seeking To Trademark Term "Taco Tuesday"

LeBron James has "filed a trademark application for the term 'Taco Tuesday,' apparently to capitalize" on his popular Instagram videos, according to Joe Mozingo of the L.A. TIMES. James' company LBJ Trademarks filed the application Aug. 15 for a "broad array of potential business ventures." They include "downloadable videos, podcasts, marketing, blogging and online 'entertainment services, namely providing a website featuring non-downloadable videos and social media posts in the field of sports, entertainment, current events and popular culture.'" There are "at least 10 other active requests to trademark the term" (L.A. TIMES, 9/1). ESPN.com's Brian Windhorst cited a source as saying that James' team has "no firm plans for the term but wants to keep all business opportunities open" (ESPN.com, 8/31).
