Golden Knights Alter TV Crew After Taking Control Of Broadcasts

Golden Knights TV broadcasts will turn to former ESPN reporter Stormy Buonantony for rinkside dutiesSTORMY BUONANTONY

Golden Knights TV studio host Nick Gismondi, analyst Brad May and rinkside reporter Alyson Lozoff "did not have their contracts renewed and will not return," according to sources cited by David Schoen of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. Play-by-play announcer Dave Goucher and color analyst Shane Hnidy are "not affected by the change and remain with the team." Gismondi, May and Lozoff "appeared on the pregame and postgame shows along with the intermission report on AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain." However, sources said that their contracts with the station "expired after the season," and the Golden Knights "made the decision this summer to assume control of the broadcast team." Daren Millard, who spent 20 years at Sportsnet in Canada, is "expected to be hired as the new studio host." ESPN's Stormy Buonantony is "set to take over as rinkside reporter" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 8/29).

OFF THE ICE: In Toronto, Lance Hornby notes longtime hockey analysts Nick Kypreos and Doug MacLean are "leaving Sportsnet." Kypreos has worked for the outlet since it launched nearly 21 years ago, and MacLean has been with the net for 10 years (TORONTO SUN, 8/29). Sportnet's John Shannon, who has been "featured prominently" on "Hockey Central," is also leaving. Shannon joined Sportsnet" in '09 after a 30-year career as a "hockey producer with the NHL, MLSE and CBC" (SPORTSNET.ca, 8/28).
