New Razorbacks-Themed Lottery Tickets Available In Arkansas

Sales of the tickets will support college students in Arkansas regardless of which school they attendARKANSAS SCHOLARSHIP LOTTERY

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery this season will offer new "Razorbacks-themed" $5 scratch-off tickets, according to Jaime Adame of the ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE. Arkansas AD Hunter Yurachek said that the lottery is "paying a $141,000 licensing fee" through a deal that "involves the Razorbacks' multimedia-rights holder Learfield IMG College rather than the university directly." Lottery Dir Bishop Woosley said that by law, sales of the Razorback-themed tickets will "support students regardless of which school they choose to attend ... with no extra scholarship dollars for UA students." The scratch-off tickets have a top prize of $100,000. Woosley said that he "approached the university about the possibility of a Razorbacks-themed ticket, crediting Yurachek" for getting the proposal pushed through. A portion of the money also goes to Learfield IMG College, but the company "does not disclose financial details for sponsorships" (ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE, 8/29).
