New $150M Loews Hotel To Anchor Texas Live! Entertainment District

The $150M "Live! by Loews Hotel -- Arlington, TX" is the "anchor of the Texas Live! entertainment district that's gone up" between the Rangers' soon-to-be-completed Globe Life Field, AT&T Stadium and the Arlington esports stadium, according to Dom DiFurio of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. The hotel is "billed as a multi-concept sports and entertainment resort and it delivers on the name." Loews "conceived the hotel's inverted pyramid design, working alongside" the Rangers and The Cordish Cos., the Baltimore-based developer of the $250M entertainment district. Floor to ceiling windows "line each floor" of the hotel, "as well as every hotel suite, and includes views" of Globe Life Field. Loews Hotels Chair & CEO Jonathan Tisch "worked with the Rangers and Dallas-based HKS Architects to hand-select minimalistic art for the resort that draws inspiration from the region's rich sports history." The entertainment district surrounding the hotel has been "open for about a year and the bustle of construction activity" on the Rangers' new ballpark is to be "complete in the spring." The Rangers said that the ballpark is now "more than 70% complete" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/23).
