Price Of D-Backs Season Tickets Set To Rise Next Year

The D-backs are "raising the per-game cost for some season-ticket packages" next season, according to Richard Morin of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. The team said that it will have a "greater number of upper-echelon games at Chase Field" in '20. Though the team "did not disclose how many seats were being raised in price or how many season-ticket holders they currently have." Season-ticket holders have until Aug. 31 to "renew their full-season packages." Because of that, the team said that it was "too early to determine the renewal rate" for '20. The D-backs "use a tier system to rank their games based on opponent, day of the week and other factors." In response to the fan concerns, the D-backs "cited a metric called 'Fan Cost Index.'" The D-backs "announced in March that they had the lowest Fan Cost Index in MLB for the 11th consecutive year." Still, the "optics of raising prices are murky when considering the slew of rumors surrounding the team’s stadium situation." The D-backs have "initiated programs to help retain their season-ticket members, including on-field meetings with players and staff and even personalized video messages" from P Archie Bradley while he "occupies that person’s seats" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 8/22).
