Fun In The Sun: Comscore Rankings Show July Growth From '18

The digital sports media category in July entered what typically is one of the lighter parts of the year for user traffic, but still showed growth compared to the same time period in '18. Monthly Comscore rankings of multiplatform digital reach showed the sports category last month generated a total U.S. audience of 181.9 million, down from 185.4 million in June. However, the July number was up 1.7% from the same month last year. Last month's average consumption of 93.9 minutes per user showed a similar downward trend from 97.4 minutes per user in June, but still posted 2.7% growth from July '18. ESPN once again led the sports category during July with a reach total of 82.2 million unique visitors, up from 67.7 million in '18.
