Brewers LF RYAN BRAUN and RF CHRISTIAN YELICH are "making 'significant' investments into the ongoing redevelopment of the former Shops of Grand Avenue in downtown Milwaukee." The pair "anticipated their investment in The Avenue project would produce both social and financial benefits." The Avenue co-Owner TONY JANOWIEC said that Braun and Yelich are "among roughly 12 equity investors in the development" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/13).

MAKING A RUN FOR IT: Former MLBer CURT SCHILLING is "considering a run for Congress in Arizona." Schilling is an "outspoken conservative and avid" fan of PRESIDENT TRUMP. He said on a radio show over the weekend that he is "absolutely considering" a run for one of Arizona's five congressional districts currently held by Democrats (BOSTON HERALD, 8/14). There is "no guarantee that Schilling will actually run for office." When asked what district he plans to run in, Schilling said, "One of the blue ones." His campaign is "still in the formative stage" (BOSTON GLOBE, 8/14).

NAMES: Redskins CB JOSH NORMAN and Saints LB DEMARIO DAVIS “helped pay the $50,000 bail” for 22-year-old college student and farmworker JOSE BELLO, who was imprisoned for 89 days after “reading a poem criticizing Immigration and Customs Enforcement at a public meeting in May” (WASHINGTON POST, 8/14)....Numerous coaches and community members yesterday “led more than 200 Columbus youths ages 8 to 14” at the Browns mini-clinic, a “partnership between the Columbus recreation and Parks Department and the Browns.” The camp “featured an offensive and defensive station, as well as a third where games of flag football were played” (COLUMBUS DISPATCH, 8/14).
