Source: MLB OK With Stroman's Use Of Brand For Players' Weekend

Stroman's HDMH brand has its own website that sells merchandise with the motto on ithdmh apparel

MLB does not have an issue with Mets P Marcus Stroman using his brand -- HDMH (Height Doesn't Measure Heart) -- on the back of his jersey for Players' Weekend, according to a league source. Stroman, who was recently traded from the Blue Jays, also used HDMH -- his slogan and motto -- as his Players' Weekend nickname last year. Stroman's brand has its own website that sells hats, shorts, T-shirts and other items with the motto on it (THE DAILY).

TOP PICKS: In DC, Jack Holmes notes one of his "home runs" for Players' Weekend nicknames is Nationals P Sean Doolittle's "Obi-Sean." The list of nicknames was "not short of Star Wars references, but this is one of the best." During the Nationals' Star Wars Day earlier this season, the team "combined Doolittle and Obi-Wan Kenobi into one bobble head: Obi-Sean Kenobi." Holmes also gives kudos to Brewers 1B Eric Thames' "Phone Home" nickname. It is a "solid movie reference" given his "E.T." initials (NBCSPORTSWASHINGTON.com, 8/6). MLB.com's Eric Chesterton wrote D-backs P Jon Duplantier's "Dup There It Is" nickname is "possibly the best." Chesterton also noted Indians SS Francisco Lindor, who has gone by "Mr. Smile" the last two Players' Weekends, is "getting in on the emoji craze" this year and is "tripling the amount of smile on his uniform in the process" (MLB.com, 8/6).
