In Baltimore, Zach Phillips noted Camden Yards "will be getting an upgrade," as the Maryland Stadium Authority is "seeking approval" on $3.8M in renovations to the ballpark's Warehouse. The Warehouse houses the Orioles' team offices as well as a "few private tenants," including the MSA and MASN. The plans to "improve the building include three new lobby renovations, a canopy on the east side of the building and upgraded signage and outdoor lighting" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/6).
HOWARD TERMINAL HOLD-UP: In S.F., Phil Matier notes the Oakland City Council "could throw a wrench into the deal" for the A's new waterfront ballpark. At issue is Alameda County's "half share" of the 155-acre RingCentral Coliseum site, which the county "plans to sell to the A's" for $85M. The city of Oakland "owns the other half and would retain its share in the site." However, some city council members said that Alameda County "should sell its share to the city, even though it's unclear if the city has the money to buy out the county" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 8/7).
FREE FALLIN': In Boston, Catherine Carlock noted Patriot Place will "feature an indoor skydiving tunnel" in fall '20. The facility will be "located between the CBS Sporting Club and Showcase Live." The tunnel also will be "used for professional skydiving and military training" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/5).
