In Philadelphia, Rob Tornoe noted NBC Sports Philadelphia on Sunday broadcast all two hours of the Eagles' "sole open practice of training camp" for fans who could not make it to Lincoln Financial Field. However, Sunday’s telecast "spent more time in the broadcast booth" with Michael Barkann, Ray Didinger and Barrett Brooks than it did "showing action on the field." The broadcast was also "filled with interviews featuring former Eagles players." The "lack of action led to a flood of complaints on social media from angry fans." A source said that NBCSP "wasn’t permitted to show much of the practice by the Eagles" (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 8/6).

IN THE LOOP: In Dallas, Tommy Magelssen noted the Dallas Morning News will cover the Overwatch League's Dallas Fuel "through the end" of the team's '19 season. The goal is to "gauge interest in regular coverage of the Fuel" in '20 when the franchise "moves to North Texas full time." Coverage of the Fuel will be "primarily online." Magelssen: "The hope is to cover the Fuel like we do other traditional sports." The coverage will be "free for readers through the end of this season," with the plan being to continue this coverage with a "subscription model" in '20 (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 8/5).

DOUBLE-TIME: DEADLINE's Bruce Haring noted Dodgers fans who "don’t have the SportsNet L.A. channel will be able to watch five more games" on KTLA-TV this season "under a new deal with Spectrum Networks." The five games -- one in August and four in September -- "will be simulcast" on KTLA and SportsNet LA (DEADLINE.com, 8/2).

HIGH NOTE: Friday night's Red Sox-Yankees telecast on YES Network averaged a 4.6 rating (431,000 average TV viewers), making it the net's highest-rated and most-watched Yankees telecast since August 2, 2018 (THE DAILY).
