Updated NFL Fantasy Football App Allows For Live Game Viewing

nfl

The NFL Fantasy Football app debuted a new look on Thursday, the result of nine months of work on the product. The most interesting new feature of the redesign is the ability to watch live NFL games in-app, while still monitoring fantasy football scoring on the same screen. “That really feels like this catch-all of everything you need to stay up with what’s happening in the NFL,” said NFL Fantasy Products Dir Michael Koval. “It’s extremely convenient.” The app maintained its listing in the Apple and Google stores, but essentially every other aspect of it was torn down, balled up and tossed out last November. The team working on the rebuild felt that the mechanics of commissioner-style fantasy football were solid, but that the game’s aesthetics were ripe for innovation. Fantasy football has long been a game of columns and rows, stemming from when scoring was tallied by hand prior to the internet. The NFL app team wanted to make its redesign more closely resemble a game. That started with the logo. While it is still in the shape of the NFL’s traditional shield logo, now it looks more like a video game icon. Koval said the goal was “to bring it to look more like applications that you actually see in market today, that’s more interactive, with video, experiences that just feel more up to date.”
