Zion Williamson Signs Three-Year Partnership With NBA 2K

Pelicans F Zion Williamson has signed a three-year deal with NBA 2K, and the top pick in the '19 Draft will make his debut in the game when it "launches on Sept. 6," according to Tim Reynolds of the AP. The partnership is the "latest deal in a rapidly growing off-court enterprise for Williamson, perhaps the most celebrated No. 1 pick to enter" the NBA since LeBron James in '03. Williamson earlier this month signed a long-term shoe deal with Nike's Jordan Brand (AP, 7/30). In Nashville, Clevis Murray notes Williamson's signing with the gaming franchise will "include him in multiple game initiatives, consumer events, brand creative and social activations." Before signing with 2K, Williamson was "reportedly in contention to be named the cover athlete of NBA Live 20, 2K's rival." Mavericks F Luka Doncic will instead be "gracing their cover" (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 7/30).
