The AP's Doug Feinberg notes WNBA Washington Mystics F Elena Delle Donne has "partnered with PETA to raise awareness on adopting shelter dogs in an ad campaign. Delle Donne is "encouraging people to adopt from local shelters as opposed to buying from breeders or pet stores." She joins a "long list of athletes," including L.A. Sparks F Candace Parker, who have "teamed up with PETA to promote kindness to animals" (AP, 7/30).

HELPING EACH OTHER: In K.C., Pryor & Kerkhoff noted the Chiefs and QB Patrick Mahomes have "worked together on branding and sponsorship opportunities." Earlier this month, they "signed a partnership deal" with Government Employee Health Association, with Mahomes as a spokesperson. Chiefs President Mark Donovan said Mahomes has "benefited us in terms of, a lot of our big partners are partners with Patrick." He added, "It's a great activation point, but that's creating opportunities for other players" (K.C. STAR, 7/27).

PEP IN THEIR STEP: EPL club Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has signed a long-term partnership with Puma. Man City's partnership with Puma, which was announced in February, began earlier this month. Guardiola will endorse Puma products both on and off the pitch, and he will also work with Puma Football to develop clothing and footwear. Man City players Sergio Aguero and David Silva are also Puma endorsers (Man City). See SBD Global for more international news.
