USWNT F Christen Press said she "wasn't familiar" with Barstool Sports before her brief collaboration with the outlet during the team's post-World Cup celebrations. She said, "To be perfectly honest, I wasn't familiar with the site when my (representation) team presented the opportunity to me, and I think everybody that knows me well knows that I support kindness, respect and dignity for all people." In Utah, Brad Rock noted Press "agreed to give Barstool followers an inside look" at the USWNT's championship celebration on social media. Rock: "Don’t plan on seeing her again [on the outlet]" (DESERET NEWS, 7/21).

SEEING RED: In N.Y., Paul Lukas wrote some sports fans have "become reluctant to wear their favorite teams’ red headwear, or have even stopped wearing it altogether, because they don’t want people to think they’re wearing one of the MAGA hats" made popular by President Trump. Managers at several sportswear shops said that red caps "have been harder to obtain from distributors lately, and some of them said the scarlet scarcity was directly related to the MAGA connection" (N.Y. TIMES, 7/21).

GOING THE DISTANCE: Under Armour has "signed NCAA champion distance runner Morgan McDonald to a sponsorship deal, giving it a high-profile endorser in a segment of the sportswear industry long dominated by Nike." McDonald joins a "relatively small group of track and field athletes" sponsored by UA, and becomes one of the athletic brand’s "most high-profile endorsers in the sport." McDonald "wore Under Armour as a collegian," as the company signed a $96M deal in '15 to outfit the Univ. of Wisconsin (BALTIMORE SUN, 7/19).
