Vikings Fans Reserve 60,000 Tickets For Training Camp Practices

The Vikings last year saw an 80% show rate for those who paid for seats and 60% for those with free ticketsVIKINGS

The Vikings as of late last week had about 60,000 tickets reserved for open training camp sessions at their Eagan, Minn., practice facility, which Vikings VP/Strategic & Corporate Communications Jeff Anderson said is "kind of where we expected to be," according to a front-page piece by Nick Ferraro of the ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS. The Vikings on Friday kick off their second training camp in Eagan; team front-office staff and Eagan officials said that the first year would be a "learning experience." For last year's training camp dates, Anderson said that about a third of the tickets "went unused," though it is "difficult to say why." Ferraro noted fans like to "gobble up training camp tickets and then not use them." While more than 90,000 tickets were claimed, attendance was "just over 63,000 over the 17 days that were open to the public." The Vikings saw an 80% "show rate for fans who paid" for reserved seats, and a 60% show rate for "those who picked up free tickets" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 7/21).
