USWNT F Alex Morgan is "planning to launch her own media venture," which will "focus on storytelling, specifically content for girls created by female athletes." Morgan said, "We'll be focusing on women in sports and sharing the stories that I think a lot of people want to hear, and girls need to be given access to." Morgan "declined to provide too many specifics about the venture, which doesn't yet have a name." She did say that she "isn't planning to launch it in partnership with any major media companies" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 7/18).

NOT GOING ANYWHERE FOR A WHILE? The NBA 2K League on Friday will announce a new sponsorship deal with Snickers, the latest brand to sign on to back the esports series. Terms were not revealed for the pact, which is based around the league now highlighting a player every game who has the most to prove. That player will be dubbed the "Snickers Hungriest Player to Watch." The activation will start Friday and continue for the rest of the '19 season. Other non-endemic 2K League partners include AT&T, Dell and Intel. Snickers is owned by Mars (Adam Stern, THE DAILY).

STANDING TOGETHER: Indians fans can help P Carlos Carrasco's "fight against cancer with a new shirt" from Columbus-based vintage apparel company Homage. The company "released an 'I Stand With Cookie'" shirt on Thursday, which features the Indians' block 'C' logo on it" and sells for $32. Homage said that a "portion of the proceeds will benefit cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 7/19).
