Buyers & Sellers: Joe Montana Relists California Estate For $28.9M

JOE MONTANA has relisted his roughly 500-acre European-style estate in California for $28.9M, which is 41% "less than he first sought a decade ago" for the property near Calistoga. Montana initially sought $49M in '09. The 9,700-square-foot, three-bedroom home has "lots of European details, including a small moat and bridge out front." Montana "spent about five years designing and building the house." The property also has a swimming pool, a court that can be used for basketball or tennis, a skeet shooting range, a bocce ball terrace and a large equestrian facility (WSJ.com, 7/10).

BUYERS & SELLERS: Former NFL Cardinals coach STEVE WILKS has put his home in Chandler, Ariz., on the market for $2.65M. The 5,770-square-foot home features a wine room, a private basketball court and four-car garage. The backyard has a heated pool and hot tub with covered patio areas and a built-in barbecue (AZCENTRAL.com, 7/8)....USF football coach CHARLIE STRONG has bought a waterfront home in South Tampa for $3.2M. The nearly 7,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style house has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, a four-car garage, a pool and a covered dock (TAMPABAY.com, 7/9)....Rockets G AUSTIN RIVERS has sold his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of L.A. for $6.925M. He bought the property in '16 for $6.1M. The three-level home has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms in 7,400 square feet. It features "high ceilings, detailed millwork, a dining room with a wet bar, and a center-island kitchen" (LATIMES.com, 7/10)....Driver HELIO CASTRONEVES has put his waterfront home in Ft. Lauderdale on the market for $2.699M. The two-story estate has a "few upgrades he made over the years, including marble floors and a revamped back patio." The 4,823-square-foot interior has a double-door entry that opens into a "two-story foyer full of windows." There is also a "living room under vaulted ceilings, a gourmet kitchen with quartz countertops and an open dining area" (LATIMES.com, 7/5).
