Twitch CMO Kate Jhaveri Taking Same Role With NBA

The NBA has named digital marketing veteran KATE JHAVERI as the league’s new CMO, replacing PAM EL, who retired at the end of last year. Jhaveri is currently Twitch CMO, and she will begin her new job on Aug. 15. She will report to NBA Deputy Commissioner & COO MARK TATUM. Prior to Twitch, Jhaveri was head of consumer marketing at Twitter and also previously worked as head of brand marketing at Facebook. She also worked in marketing for Microsoft and at Dell. As NBA CMO, Jhaveri will be responsible for marketing campaigns and brand messaging across the NBA, the WNBA, the G League and the NBA 2K League. She comes to the NBA with some knowledge of the league given that the G League and the NBA 2K League has streaming deals with Twitch. James & Co. handled the search for the NBA. Jhaveri in a statement said, "I am thrilled to join the NBA and bring my experiences in both digital and traditional marketing to develop new and innovative ways to continue the global growth of the league. The NBA has an incredibly passionate fanbase, and I look forward to utilizing their perspectives to best drive our strategic direction.”
