The Pacers' Bankers Life Fieldhouse will retain its name "for now," despite the 20-year naming-rights deal expiring on Sunday, according to Robby General of the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. Pacers Sports & Entertainment execs confirmed yesterday that the building will "continue being called" Bankers Life Fieldhouse until a new naming-rights sponsor is found. PS&E Senior VP/Corporate, Community & PR Brent Rockwood said there is no "hard and fast" deadline to find a naming-rights partner. He added PS&E is "currently engaged in ongoing discussions, which are at various stages, with a number of potential partners." Rockwood said that there has been "no interest from sponsors [in] removing the name 'fieldhouse' from the building" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 7/2).
