The Warriors have extended the contracts of President & COO RICK WELTS and President of Basketball Operations & GM BOB MYERS, which will "keep them in their roles" for multiple years, according to Adam Wells of BLEACHER REPORT. Myers previously signed a contract extension in September '16 that "included a significant pay raise, though terms of the deal weren't made public." With Myers and Welts in their roles, the Warriors have "become the most dominant franchise in the NBA this decade" (BLEACHERREPORT.com, 6/28). In San Jose, Mark Medina noted the Warriors again "did not disclose the terms of the deal, but it reflects the Warriors’ support toward how Myers and Welts played pivotal roles in shaping their franchise" (MERCURYNEWS.com, 6/28).
