ESPN's TONY KORNHEISER has "closed down" his DC-area restaurant, Chatter, after two years of ownership. Kornheiser announced the decision on his podcast, which he "hosts from a studio inside the restaurant." He said, "Whether or not it reopens I am not certain at the moment. I hope it reopens. But we are probably going to move on and do the show from a less-public area" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 6/29).

MONEY MATTERS: Lightning Owner JEFF VINIK has taken out a $102M loan secured by his lease on Amalie Arena. The leasehold mortgage was provided by Goldman Sachs, and was closed on June 21. The loan money is "working capital, which Vinik plans to leverage in investments across his portfolio" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/1)....American Financial Group CEO and FC Cincinnati Managing Owner & CEO CARL LINDNER III has sold another $15M in his company's stock. Lindner has now sold nearly $48M in stock "so far this year," after selling more than $40M last year (BIZJOURNALS.com, 6/28).

MARKET WATCH: A 40-acre property in Napa Valley, owned by NORMA HUNT, widow of late former Chiefs Founder LAMAR HUNT, "hit the market this week" with a $19.95M listing price. Hunt is "selling the property that she and her late husband bought" in '00 (DALLASNEWS.com, 6/27).
