Verizon announced it will be "building a high-speed fiber network that will connect all 29 NBA arenas." By the second half of '20, the NBA "will be able to support 1080p resolution across all future broadcasts and install 30 new cameras in each building, offering a variety of viewing angles." Each arena will be "connected with two diversely routed 100G fiber circuits, increasing the network bandwidth by tenfold" (CABLEFAX DAILY, 6/27).

EAT UP: In Cincinnati, Sharon Coolidge noted local restaurant chain Frisch's Big Boy has "signed a five-year lease with FC Cincinnati to remain in Nippert Stadium and then join the team at the new stadium when it opens" in '21. Frisch's will "join Skyline, which will also have a food stand in the new stadium." FC Cincinnati Senior VP/Partnerships & Broadcasting Vince Cicero "didn't give any hint about beer partnerships," but he said that those talks are "already starting" (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 6/26).

THE PICK IS IN: In St. Louis, Nathan Rubbelke noted Spectra has been "tapped by the St. Louis Legacy Ice Foundation as the venue management and food services provider" for the Blues' new practice facility, the $78M Centene Community Ice Center, which is "slated to open in September." Lance Rosenberg has been hired as GM of the sports complex (BIZJOURNALS.com, 6/21).
