USSF Opens Pop-Up Shop In Chicago To Promote National Teams

The studio will include retail space for U.S. Soccer gear, and activities like holograms and a photo boothU.S. SOCCER

The U.S. Soccer Federation is "looking to capitalize on the excitement surrounding the national soccer teams," opening the U.S. Soccer Fan Studio in Chicago through July 15, according to Khobi Price of the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES. USSF Dir of Marketing, Communications, Events & Technology Michael Gressle said, "We thought to do a physical space here in Chicago -- since we're headquartered here in Chicago -- would be a great way to announce our presence." Price notes the studio will "include a retail space for U.S. Soccer gear, as well as activities including holograms, a photo booth, and opportunities to take pictures" with the '91, '99 and '15 Women's World Cup trophies. There also will be a "projector in the back of the store that will play U.S. Soccer games live." The studio also features a foosball table that -- "thanks to a 3-D face scan -- features nearly every player on the women's national team, one of only 15 of its existence." The USSF is hoping the store can "connect with youth soccer players and fans with interactive activities." In addition to the pop-up shop, the USSF will host a viewing for the USWNT's match against Chile on Sunday at Gallagher Way, "adjacent to Wrigley Field" (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 6/13).
