NFL Giants Hold Annual Town Hall For Season-Ticket Holders

Giants President & CEO John Mara was "self-deprecating when he received a standing ovation" during the team's annual Town Hall meeting with season-ticket holders this week, while GM Dave Gettleman "received both cheers and boos when he took the stage," according to Pat Leonard of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS. Once he got on stage at the Beacon Theatre in N.Y., Mara said, "Thanks, I appreciate that, especially after going 8-24 the last two years. It's nice to hear some applause, believe me." He added, "You can't get affected by what the media has to say. The media most of the time doesn't have any idea what they're talking about." Giants QB Eli Manning "received a 40-second standing ovation" from the crowd. Manning, known for being an "entertaining storyteller and prankster, shared some gems for the adoring fans." He also "took some jokes about his age gracefully" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 6/13).
