Act Global, one of the "biggest synthetic turf providers in the world," is partnering with the RS3 Turf division of Nolan Ryan-led Ryan Sanders Sports & Entertainment going forward, according to Kevin Lyttle of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. Both companies are based in the Austin area. RS3 has "laid natural grass fields" at Minute Maid Park, BBVA Compass Stadium, the Cotton Bowl and Dell Diamond. Act Global, meanwhile, has "installed turf fields in more than 90 countries," including 13 NFL stadiums, and its "newest innovation is NR34 Turf, optimized for baseball fields." Ryan Sanders Sports & Entertainment COO J.J. Gottsch said that Act Global's new "turf project can blend well" with RS3's "grass expertise and cited cross-marketing advantages." Gottsch: "The synthetic side is outside our scope. Act Global is a world leader there. They've been successful everywhere but baseball so our partnership opens doors for them and a lot more opportunities for us" (STATESMAN.com, 6/12).
