  • DraftKings Adds Women’s World Cup Daily Fantasy Games: DraftKings has launched new daily fantasy games for the France 2019 Women’s World Cup, making women’s soccer the 13th DFS category available on the platform. Contests are available in eight countries, including the U.S., Canada, and Australia. DraftKings also announced that users in New Jersey and Mississippi will be able to legally bet on the Women’s World Cup for the first time via DraftKings Sportsbook, with mobile betting only available in New Jersey. “The passion of our fans informs our innovation and product roadmap, so for such a special event that only comes along every four years, we wanted to ensure our full complement of offerings would be at their fingertips,” said DraftKings CRO and co-founder Matt Kalish in a press release.
  • EFL’s Leeds United to Feature in Amazon Documentary Series: Amazon has purchased the rights to a documentary series that will cover Leeds United’s 2018-19 season in the English Football League’s Championship. Amazon acquired original behind-the-scenes footage from UK-based media production company The City Talking. The series is expected to be released on Amazon Prime in the coming months, according to the Daily Mail. Amazon is also producing a series covering Borussia Dortmund’s 2018-19 Bundesliga season, which is due to stream on Amazon Prime starting from Aug. 9.
  • Salesforce Buys Data Visualization Platform Tableau: Customer relationship management service Salesforce is buying data visualization platform Tableau in an all-stock deal valued at $15.7 billion. Tableau will continue to operate independently under the Tableau brand. Tableau’s software can turn data into dashboards and charts, and analytics departments at teams and leagues throughout sports are known to use the platform. Justin Haffad of the Atlanta Braves recently won the Horizon Summit data visualization challenge with his design of a Tableau dashboard that allows sales representatives to more efficiently meet with their different clients.
