Mercedes-Benz Stadium Wins Sports Facility Of The Year

AMB Group CEO Steve Cannon said that the stadium aspires to be the Ritz-Carlton of sports venuesMARC BRYAN-BROWN

Calling it “the greatest destination for the world’s biggest events,” AMB Group CEO Steve Cannon accepted the Sports Business Award for Mercedes-Benz Stadium as SBJ’s Sports Facility of the Year. Mercedes-Benz Stadium beat out a deep cast of finalists that included Banc of California Stadium, Fiserv Forum, State Farm Arena and USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Mercedes-Benz Stadium was the center of the sports universe for much of the past year, hosting the SEC Championship game, the '18 CFP Championship game, the MLS All-Star Game, the MLS Cup and Super Bowl LIII, providing an ideal platform for the stadium’s innovative design and fan-friendly pricing on food and beverage. “We aspire to be the Ritz-Carlton; we’re in the hospitality business,” Cannon said. “We asked our associates to redefine the fan experience and they’ve responded. This is for them.”
