The Univ. of Colorado has received a "seven-figure endowment that is the largest in CU football history" from KELLI BROOKS, who is a partner at KPMG. The "previous largest endowment for the program was for roughly" $3M. Brooks’ estate commitment "will come to fruition in the future" and it will go toward "football scholarships." Brooks has "been a donor to CU football, but her estate commitment went to another level" (Boulder DAILY CAMERA, 5/21).

AWARDS & HONORS: An effort is underway at Dallas City Hall to honor former NBAer DIRK NOWITZKI by renaming a "three-block portion of Olive Street in front of Victory Plaza and American Airlines Center to Nowitzki Way" (DALLASNEWS.com, 5/20)....The National Polish-American Sports HOF named ESPN’s ADRIAN WOJNAROWSKI the recipient of the newly-originated Tony Kubek Media Award (NPASHF).

NAMES: Longtime college basketball analyst DEBBIE ANTONELLI -- whose 21-year-old son FRANKIE is a Special Olympics athlete -- has "raised over $80,000" for South Carolina Special Olympics through her "24 Hours of Nothing But Net" campaign. IN MEMORY: Former Temple AD GAVIN WHITE JR. died Sunday at the age of 93. White, who served as AD from ’82-86, was in charge when HOF basketball coach JOHN CHANEY was hired. White served as Associate AD from ’66-82 before taking over as AD, and during his time at Temple, he “taught in the physical education and dance department” (PHILLY.com, 5/20).
