JetBlue Unveils Bruins-Themed Plane For Team's Playoff Run

The Bruins' plane is JetBlue's first NHL-themed livery, and the third based on a Boston sports teamJETBLUE

JetBlue unveiled a "Bruins-themed plane" called "Bear Force One" ahead of the team's Eastern Conference Finals Game 3 against the Hurricanes, according to Michael Bonner of MASSLIVE.com. The Bruins' "iconic 'B' logo appears on the tail of the plane, while black and gold made up the color scheme" of the livery. The "Bear Force One" name is "written by the door." The plane "joins similarly themed planes from JetBlue dedicated to the Red Sox and Celtics" (MASSLIVE.com, 5/13). In Raleigh, Richard Stradling wrote it was "hard to miss the planeload" of Bruins fans who arrived at Raleigh-Durham Int'l Airport yesterday in Bear Force One. Stradling noted JetBlue is the airline sponsor for Boston's four major sports teams, and it is "not clear whether the airline will avoid sending" the plane to RDU in the future after the Hurricanes-Bruins series is over. JetBlue said that the Bruins livery is the company's "first NHL-themed plane" (NEWSOBSERVER.com, 5/13).
