Ohio State Offering Partial Football Season-Ticket Plans For '19

OSU's average attendance last season was 101,947 per game, which was 97% of Ohio Stadium's capacityGETTY IMAGES

Ohio State for the first time will offer partial football season-ticket packages this season that "don’t require a full commitment and don’t mandate a donation to the Buckeye Club to acquire them," according to Doug Lesmerises of the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER. Full season-ticket plans for the '19 season require a donation of $1,500 that "allows you the right to buy two season tickets at $702 each." There are three options for "smaller packages." The Flex Pass is a 4-game package for FAU, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State and Maryland for $249. The Rush Plan is a 3-game package for Miami (Ohio), Maryland and Wisconsin for $327. The Blitz Plan is a 3-game package for FAU, Cincinnati and Michigan State for $297. OSU in '18 ranked third in average attendance, at 101,947 per game, which was 97% of capacity. If OSU was "happily filling Ohio Stadium each week," the partial season tickets "wouldn’t be happening." OSU Deputy AD Diana Sabau said that fans have been "asking for reduced ticket plans for years." Another reason the school is implementing the new strategy could be that there is "no huge home game this season." Typically, OSU has "either Michigan or a major national opponent to anchor the home schedule" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 5/11).
