League Notes

NBA Deputy Commissioner & COO Mark Tatum said that the league is "terminating the relationship" it had with the local vendor managing the league's Twitter account in Turkey. The move comes after the account did not post any stat or highlights of Trail Blazers C Enes Kanter following his 15-point performance in Game 2 of the team's series against the Nuggets. Kanter has emerged as one of Turkish President Recep Erdogan's "top critics" (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 5/2).

ALL ROADS LEAD TO MUSIC CITY: MLS Commissioner Don Garber said that the league has "committed to an MLS All-Star Game in Nashville." Garber said that this is "part of an expansion agreement where all expansion franchises will host" the game at some point. He "did not specify which season" the game will be played in Nashville. Nashville SC will begin play in MLS in '20 (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 5/3).

STAR POWER? In S.F., Ron Kroichick wrote though the LPGA "flows with many standout players," women's golf "needs a star, in the spirit of Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa." Kroichick: "The depth atop women's golf, a wave of skilled players emerging from around the globe, is striking. But is it really good for the game? Wouldn't the LPGA resonate more among casual fans if one or two stars dominated?" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 5/2).
