Facility Notes

Gensler Sports Principal & Design Dir Jonathan Emmett, who is the lead stadium designer for USL club Austin Bold, said that the 207,000-square-foot roof that will be on the new venue "isn’t the only precaution against the Texas heat." The openings in the corners of the stadium "are key." Emmett juxtaposed the design of the new stadium with that of BBVA Compass Stadium, the home of the Dynamo, a stadium "known for trapping heat and humidity" (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 5/1).

CLOSE CALL: The target date for completion of the Univ. of Oregon's Hayward Field reconstruction project "could be shifting to the end of May." The original timeline for the project "called for it to be completed by April 1, 2020." The new date "would be cutting it close" to the '20 U.S. Olympic Trials, scheduled to begin at the new Hayward Field on June 19 (Portland OREGONIAN, 5/1).

CASHING IN: Green Bay-based Associated Bank will "open a branch office like no other" in the Packers' TitletownTech building. In addition to "providing full-service banking, the branch will include features designed to engage and entertain Packers fans, who can go through a series of interactive stations that take them from fan to being part of the team." The fan experience features "will be available during normal banking hours, on game days and during other Titletown events" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 5/1).
