The State Bar of California ruled that attorney RICHARD FOSTER, a former USA Water Polo president and USOC board member, "misled and betrayed the trust and confidence" of his client, swimmer DAGNY KNUTSON, in order to "protect his business and personal relationships" with USA Swimming, late Exec Dir CHUCK WIELGUS, attorney RICHARD YOUNG and other leading figures in the swimming community. The bar court "suspended Foster's law license for one year." In June '16, an Orange County Superior Court jury found Foster had "committed a breach of fiduciary duty and fraud by willful concealment while advising Knutson to accept a financial settlement with USA Swimming" (DAILYNEWS.com, 4/29).

FILM STUDY: Texans WR DEANDRE HOPKINS' mother, SABRINA GREENLEE, is the "inspiration for a movie in the works about her life." The movie is being produced by Bron Studios "in partnership with Good Fear and Kituufu Films," and is titled "SABRINA." Greenlee was blinded in '02 when a woman "threw a boiling mixture of lye and bleach in her face." The incident "burned her face" and left "suffering burns" on over 17% of her body. Greenlee has "raised four children as a single mother, including Hopkins" (HOUSTONCHRONICLE.com, 4/29).

DERBY DAYS: Country singer JENNIFER NETTLES will sing the national anthem at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday (Churchill Downs)....Patriots QB TOM BRADY is "expected to attend" this year's Derby with "all his best Patriot pals." Brady "topped the list of celebrities expected at the Barnstable Brown Kentucky Derby Eve Gala on May 4." Brady will be joined by Patriots WR JULIAN EDELMAN, 49ers QB JIMMY GAROPPOLO and Lions WR DANNY AMENDOLA, as well as Packers QB AARON RODGERS, Broncos LB VON MILLER and Gold Medal-winning U.S. skier BODE MILLER (BOSTONGLOBE.com, 4/29).

PEEK BEHIND THE CURTAIN: Celtics F MARCUS MORRIS was profiled as a part of USA TODAY's "How I Became A ..." feature. Morris said, "During the season, I get up at 8, mess around with my son and go back to sleep for about an hour. I come to the gym, do my workouts, practice and go back home." Morris added, "Game days, I get a good day of rest. I come to the gym, do a small workout, eat my three-course meals, listen to my music, and get ready" (USA TODAY, 4/30).

NAMES: Prosecutors will "not be able to release surveillance videos" of Patriots Owner ROBERT KRAFT and 24 other men "charged with soliciting prostitution at a massage parlor in Jupiter, Fla." (N.Y. TIMES, 4/30)....Texas Tech men’s basketball coach CHRIS BEARD received a six-year contract extension through the ’24-25 season that will pay him an average of $4.575M. The “only coaches making more than Beard’s average” are Duke’s MIKE KRZYZEWSKI and Kentucky’s JOHN CALIPARI (DALLASNEWS.com, 4/29)....The Professional Fighters League has raised $30M from a group of investors that includes Beats By Dre co-Founder JIMMY IOVINE.
