People & Personalities: Terry Collins Joining FS1 Studio Shows

In N.Y., Bob Raissman cited sources as saying that former Mets manager Terry Collins "signed a deal with Fox Sports to work on its baseball studio shows." Collins is scheduled to debut May 2 on FS1's "MLB Whiparound," alongside host Kevin Burkhardt and analyst Frank Thomas. Raissman wrote this is a "good move" by FS1 that could "pay off in a big way." Collins' postgame press conferences on SNY were "must-see TV." The key for Collins will be his "ability to continue being himself on Fox while adjusting to the mechanics of the studio" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 4/28).

DON'T KNOW HOW GOOD THEY GOT IT: In Ft. Worth, Mac Engel noted longtime Stars TV broadcaster Daryl Reaugh has been a "main stay for more than two decades with the franchise." Engel: "Of the many great announcers who spoil us in DFW, [Reaugh] is as good as any we've had, or ever will have." Reaugh likely could have "gone to a national outlet years ago, but he's remained loyal to the Stars and the Stars loyal to him" (Ft. Worth STAR-TELEGRAM, 4/28).

MOVING ON UP: ESPN college football sideline analyst Roddy Jones will "move to the booth and serve as an analyst for ACC football games" on the new ACC Network set to launch August 22, 2019 (ESPN).
