New LSU AD Signs Six-Year Deal, Will Make $1.1M For First Two Years

New LSU AD Scott Woodward has "inked a six-year contract with the university" and will start out by earning $1.1M in each of his first two years, according to Amie Just of the New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE. Woodward will start with a base salary of $525,000 with an "additional salary of $575,000 to be paid by an affiliated entity," which will "increase as Woodward moves through his term." In the final two years of his contract, Woodward will make $1.5M per year. He will also "receive a $250,000 signing bonus, which is to be paid within 60 days of May 6." Woodward also has "two retention bonuses." If he is still LSU AD on April 30, 2024, he will "earn an additional $250,000." If Woodward "completes the contract term, he will be paid $500,000." LSU will also pay Woodward's former employer, Texas A&M, "up to $50,000 in liquidated damages" (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 4/25).
