Hornets Exec VP & COO PETE GUELLI is "leaving the team" to become NFL Giants Chief Commercial Officer. Guelli was hired as the Hornets' Chief Marketing & Sales Officer in April '09. He was approached by the Giants "about a month ago about the position," and his last day with the Hornets will be May 10. Guelli, who spent 11 years with the Bills, said that he "grew up in a household full of Giants fans" (CHARLOTTEOBSERVER.com, 4/24). Turnkey Sports & Entertainment assisted the Giants with their search. Longtime Giants Exec VP & CMO MIKE STEVENS resigned in January after 13 years with the team (THE DAILY).

EXECS: Utah State named Weber State AD JERRY BOVEE Assistant VP & Deputy AD/External Affairs. He will "officially begin his duties in early June" (SLTRIB.com, 4/23)....The IOC named former Twitter Head of Sports Partnerships/Asia Pacific ANEESH MADANI Head of Digital Partnerships (TWITTER.com, 4/23)....The '19 AutoZone Liberty Bowl Festival Association elected BOD member and AutoZone CFO BILL GILES as President (COMMERCIALAPPEAL.com, 4/23)....Digital sports media publisher Wave named former Buzzfeed CRO ANDY WIEDLIN Chief Business Officer (Wave)....The Univ. of St. Joseph named New England College AD LOU IZZI to the same position. Izzi will replace BILL CARDARELLI, who "spent 26 years in that role and is taking on a new position with the school" (COURANT.com, 4/23).
