Bills Impressed With New, Improved Performance Training Center

The Bills last week opened a 41,000-square-foot, "state-of-the-art sports performance center," which was "ready for use when players reported" for the team's voluntary offseason conditioning program, according to Jay Skurski of the BUFFALO NEWS. Bills GM Brandon Beane said the new facility is a "game-changer for us." Beane: "This is the one thing that we didn't have that was top level, and we went from probably below average to the best." Work on the new facility included renovating the existing 18,000 square feet of space for the training center and "added a 23,000-square-foot addition on to the northwest corner of the team's fieldhouse." Bills K Stephen Hauschka said of the new facility, "It will help everyone in the building do their job better. We have tripled or quadrupled the amount of tools we have to perform at our best." Bills co-Owners Terry and Kim Pegula "footed the bill" for the new facility, which is expected to be about $18M. The new performance center includes a 26,000-square-foot weight room -- "more than triple its previous size" -- and a "renovated and expanded training room/sport science area that is more than 14,000 square feet -- double what was previously in place" (BUFFALO NEWS, 4/21).
