Patrick Mahomes Successfully Marketing New Celebrity Status

The endorsements and sponsorship offers have "rolled in" for Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes since last season, with "bottled water, sunglasses, cereal and a supermarket chain" being just some of the partnerships announced over the past few weeks, according to Blair Kerkhoff of the K.C. STAR. There is also Mahomes' "celebrity status," as he has "taken his fame to another level." Shaping Mahomes’ brand has been the "work of his agents, Leigh Steinberg and partner Chris Cabott of Steinberg Sports, and the Chiefs." Mahomes said, "We’re all together and we all have the same vision." He added that he has "received sound advice about the business and branding side of his career from his father, Pat Mahomes" (K.C. STAR, 4/16).
