Golden Knights' Strong Attendance Figures Mean Big Revenue For Team

T-Mobile Arena this season has been filled to 105.5% capacity, the second highest percentage in the NHLGETTY IMAGES

The Golden Knights "topped the 750,000 mark in attendance" for the '18-19 regular season with a "usual sellout crowd" of 18,485 Thursday in their final regular-season home game of the year, according to Alan Snel of LVSPORTSBIZ.com. Ticket revenue "likely topped" $60M with that type of attendance as the Golden Knights averaged 18,319 fans per game. There are typically "several hundred comps for the visiting team, sponsors and close team friends for each home game." The average ticket cost "hit the $100 mark recently," so paid attendance in Year 2 resulted in a "very healthy haul of income" for the team. The Golden Knights' '18-19 regular-season attendance was 751,067, meaning they filled T-Mobile Arena to 105.5% capacity, "second highest in the NHL," trailing only the Blackhawks and their 107.1% capacity (LVSPORTSBIZ.com, 4/4).

ON THE FLIP SIDE:In Buffalo, Lance Lysowski notes the Sabres finished with an average attendance of 17,908 at KeyBank Center, the franchise's "lowest mark" since it drew 16,886 per game during the '05-06 season. The Sabres averaged 17,892 fans in 40 games last season, though their "official season medium was elevated" to 18,563 because of the 41,821 who attended the Winter Classic at Citi Field (BUFFALO NEWS, 4/5).
