Golf Apparel Brings Augusta-Inspired Flair to '19 Masters

Models of Nike's Masters-themed shoes will be available for purchase next weekNIKE

Nike will showcase five "Masters-specific shoes" that their PGA Tour players will be "wearing while playing Augusta National" next week, according to Keely Levins of GOLF DIGEST. Models of the shoes will be "available for purchase on April 8th." The color theme that "runs through the group of shoes, which are called 'The Snake Pack,' is the green snake pattern." The theme will be "applied differently on the uppers of each model." Another aesthetic that "runs through the line of shoes is a set of praying hands," a clear "nod to Amen Corner" (GOLFDIGEST.com, 4/1). Meanwhile, Jordan Spieth will "wear a special edition" of the Spieth 3 by Under Armour for The Masters. The shoes feature "subtle pops of pink" that call back to the "famous azalea flowers that are in full bloom in early April, while the visual of the footbed mimics the one-of-a kind pine straw seen throughout the course" (KICKSONFIRE.com, 4/1).

GETTING CREATIVE: FORBES' Erik Matuszewski noted Adidas has used the $2 Georgia Peach ice cream sandwich available during Masters week for "inspiration, unveiling a limited-edition version of its popular Crossknit 3.0 golf shoe that will go on sale April 8." The rubber outsole and cushioned midsole have a "colorway that represents the sugar cookie crust of the ice cream sandwich." The creme colorway of the upper "represents the distinctive Georgia Peach ice cream, scoops of which are also featured on the inside of the shoe in a special sockliner." This is the second year in a row that Adidas has "rolled out a patron favorite from Augusta National as part of a limited-edition offering." Last year, it was a "pimento-cheese version of the Crossknit BOOST" (FORBES.com, 4/1).

VINTAGE TIGER: Nike said that Tiger Woods will be wearing "mock turtleneck shirts" during each round of The Masters this year. GOLF WEEK's David Dusek noted Woods has a "different color to wear every day, with red reserved for Sunday" (GOLFWEEK.com, 4/1).
